Burton and Lucas Films collaborate on new snowboard park at Sierra Resort.

November 9th, 2011 by Cindy

Last month Bob was called about carving Star Wars figures for a proposed new snowboard Park at Sierra Resort in Lake Tahoe, CA! Wow, that is something you dream about when carving bears and eagles all summer… The only draw back is they needed them all in three weeks! Eek! Bob has been working practically sun up to sun down to meet this time line. Last week they called and added JarJar on a snowboard to the order, but also extended the deadline by 5 days, sweet! Anyway, this is where we are at today, Some of the pictures are of unfinished sculptures…but hey, we don’t leave for 2.5 days!

Oregon Divisional Chainsaw Sculpting Championships

June 24th, 2011 by Cindy

Father’s Day weekend found us in sunny (mostly) Reedsport, OR.  The Chainsaw Carving Capital of Oregon!  Bob didn’t know what he was going to carve. He had just returned the night before from Germany’s World Cup Competition. Niels (from Denmark) and I came up with this design. I suppose it sounded easier than it actually was. The idea was that the boy had just taken the fish off the hook and the was wiggling and splashing the boy!  Bob gave it a great try, coming in 6th in the main event competition.  He also took home two First  and two second place ribbons for the quick carve events.  Not bad for someone who thought they would be to tired to carve and almost didn’t participate!
